Mykonos is the classic Greek isle, with hundreds of white-washed houses and churches, thatched windmills catching the brisk breeze, and a harbor bobbing with fishing boats and luxury yachts. Sit in the shadow of a cafe and watch as native fishermen and jet set Europeans pass by. If you stay late enough, check out the Mykonos bar for Greek dancing, or the Windmill bar for disco. At sunset, be sure to find a cafe for a cool drink as the sun sinks over the sea. If you are really daring, take the bus over to Plati Yalos and then take the boat to Paradise or Super Paradise Beach for a very youthful and European experience (bathing suit optional). |
